Here are some thoughts (with video included) on sending text messages while driving, from local bicycle enthusiast, songwriter, and blogger Dave Moulton:
I wish this video could be shown in schools throughout the US. It is the young driver, their inexperience coupled with texting and cell phone use, who pose the biggest threat, both to themselves and other road users.
I've tried texting while driving, and I don't see how it's possible. But then, chewing gum while passing gas is a little too much like multitasking for me. And since I spend a lot of time on two wheels, I can vouch for every word Dave writes on the subject.
